Forging Oaths: A Sacred Bonding Guide
A ritual to craft and seal an oath with Freyr and Gullinborsti, invoking their blessings and strength.

- 1 Representation of Freyr A statue, drawing, or symbolic item.
- 1 Representation of Gullinborsti A figurine, carving, or symbolic item.
- 1 Candle Gold or green for prosperity and light.
- 1 Beverage offering Mead, cider, or a meaningful drink.
- 1 Symbolic item to represent Gullinborsti’s bristles e.g., a quill, stick, or crafted token.
- 1 Piece Parchment and pen optional. For writing your oath
Instructions
Preparation
- Choose a quiet and undisturbed space for your ritual, ensuring it feels sacred and aligned with your intentions.
- Cleanse the space with sage, incense, or consecrated water, setting the tone for a focused and respectful ceremony.
Setting the Intention
- Reflect on the purpose of your oath. Is it a commitment to yourself, others, or the divine? Write down your thoughts or meditate on them to ensure clarity and sincerity.
Altar Setup
- Cover your altar space with the cloth, symbolizing the foundation of your connection with Freyr and Gullinborsti.
- Arrange representations of Freyr and Gullinborsti at the center of the altar. Add candles, natural elements like pinecones or leaves, and your offering vessel.
Invocation
- Light the candle and speak an invocation, inviting Freyr and Gullinborsti into your ritual space:“Freyr, lord of abundance and harmony,Gullinborsti, steadfast boar of golden light,I call upon your presence and blessings.Witness my words, guide my intentions,and lend your strength to this sacred oath.”
Offering

- Hold the symbolic item representing Gullinborsti’s bristles and focus on your intentions.

Sealing the Oath
- Perform a symbolic act to seal the oath, such as lighting a second candle, holding the symbolic bristle item, or envisioning your intentions infused with divine energy.
- Visualize Freyr and Gullinborsti’s energies strengthening your commitment, their presence affirming your vow.
Closing the Ritual
- Express gratitude to Freyr and Gullinborsti for their guidance and blessings:“Freyr and Gullinborsti, I thank you for your presence and power.May this bond be honored, this oath upheld,And your wisdom guide me always.”
- Extinguish the candle if desired or let it burn safely to completion.
