Equipment

  • 1 Altar or sacred space
  • 1 Bowl of water
  • 1 Divination tool (tarot cards, runes, or a scrying mirror)
  • 1 Cat figurine or image
  • 1 Candle (gold or pink)

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 1 cup Fresh flowers or petals
  • 1 pinch Dried herbs
  • 1 Small bowl of mead wine, or apple cider

Instructions

Step 1: Preparing the Space

  • Cleanse the ritual area by burning dried herbs like rosemary or sage to purify the space.
  • Set up an altar with symbols of Freyja: flowers, a cat figurine or image, and a gold or pink candle.
  • Place a bowl of water on the altar, symbolizing the cycles of life and renewal.

Step 2: Invoking Freyja

  • Light the candle, focusing on Freyja’s energy—her warmth, beauty, and wisdom.
  • Hold your chosen divination tool or sit in quiet reflection. Call upon Freyja:
  • “Freyja, radiant goddess of love and magic,
    Guide me with your wisdom through Yule’s sacred embrace.
    Illuminate my path with your warmth and grace,
    As I honor your presence in this hallowed space.”

Step 3: Offering to Freyja

  • Present the honey, flowers, and libation on the altar. Pour a small amount of mead or cider into the bowl of water as an offering.
  • Speak your gratitude:
  • “Freyja, I offer these gifts in gratitude for your blessings.
    May your beauty and strength inspire the cycles of renewal in my life.”

Step 4: Seeking Guidance

  • Use your divination tool to ask Freyja for insights into the coming year. If you prefer meditation, gaze into the water bowl and visualize her chariot guiding you through life’s mysteries.
  • Reflect on the messages or impressions you receive, trusting in Freyja’s wisdom.

Step 5: Closing the Ritual

  • Extinguish the candle, thanking Freyja for her presence:
  • “Freyja, goddess of love and light,
    I thank you for your guidance tonight.
    As your wisdom weaves through Yule’s embrace,
    May your blessings echo in this sacred space.”
  • Return the water, flowers, and libation to the earth as an offering to nature.
