Ingredients
1white or silver candle
1moonstone or clear quartz
A bowl of water
Offerings: honey, white flowers (e.g., lilies), or herbs like lavender or chamomile
Optional: a mirror to symbolize self-reflection and connection
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Sacred Space
Choose a quiet space for the ritual where you can reflect without interruptions.
Set up an altar with the white or silver candle at the center. Arrange the bowl of water, moonstone, and offerings around the candle. If using a mirror, place it to reflect the candle’s light.
Add white flowers or other symbols of purity and harmony to enhance the sacred ambiance.
Step 2: Create Sacred Energy
Light the incense or diffuse calming essential oils such as lavender or chamomile.
Focus on cleansing the space and yourself, allowing the soft fragrance to guide you into a peaceful state of mind.
Step 3: Invocation of Nanna
Light the white or silver candle.
Speak the invocation:
“Nanna, Goddess of the Moon, Keeper of Peace and Grace,I call to you on this sacred Yule night.May your lunar light guide my spirit,And your harmony bless this season of joy.”
Step 4: Reflect and Connect
Sit before the altar and gaze into the bowl of water or the mirror. Allow your mind to quiet as you focus on the candle’s flame or the reflection in the water.
Contemplate the themes of balance, peace, and devotion. Consider how these energies can support you in the coming year.
Step 5: Offering to Nanna
Present your offerings on the altar, saying:
“Nanna, Keeper of Harmony and Lunar Grace,I offer these gifts in gratitude and reverence.May your peace fill my home and heart.”
Place the offerings in the bowl of water or on the altar as a gesture of devotion.
Step 6: Closing the Ritual
Express your thanks to Nanna, saying:
“Nanna, Moonlit Goddess of Serenity,
I thank you for your presence and blessings.
As your light guides the night, so too may it guide me.”
Extinguish the candle, letting its light remain within you.
