Ritual: Honoring Nanna During Yule

Introduction

Embracing the Lunar Grace and Peace of the Goddess

Amid the radiant celebrations of Yule, where the return of the sun is honored, Nanna, the devoted wife of Balder, brings her own serene energy to the season. Known for her association with the moon and her gentle, harmonious nature, Nanna offers a unique balance to the festivities. Her presence invites us to embrace peace, reflect on the rhythms of life, and connect with the ethereal beauty of the lunar cycles. This ritual honors Nanna’s grace and her celestial connection, weaving her influence into the tapestry of Yule celebrations.

Ritual Basics

Before beginning any ritual, it is important to prepare yourself mentally and physically. You may want to take a cleansing bath, or shower, and meditate or perform some grounding exercises to center yourself. Gather any materials you will need, such as candles, incense, and offerings for the forest spirits.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Sacred Space

  • Choose a quiet space for the ritual where you can reflect without interruptions.
