Equipment

  • 1 Wooden board or serving platter
  • 3–4 Small bowls or ramekins (optional) (For dips, olives, or honey)
  • 1 Cheese knife or spreader
  • 1 Decorative cloth or altar runner (optional)

Ingredients

  • Assorted cured meats salami, prosciutto, chorizo
  • Selection of cheeses aged cheddar, brie, blue cheese
  • 1 cup Fresh fruits grapes, figs, apple slices, pear wedges
  • ½ cup Mixed nuts walnuts, almonds, pecans
  • ½ cup Olives and/or pickles
  • Artisanal bread or crackers
  • 2-3 tbsp Honey and/or preserves
  • Fresh herbs rosemary, thyme

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Base

  • Lay out your cloth and place the wooden board or platter on top.
  • Position bowls or ramekins for dips and condiments.

Step 2: Arrange the Meats and Cheeses

  • Slice cheeses and arrange them in a triangle or star pattern on the board.
  • Fold or curl the meats and place them around or beside the cheeses.

Step 3: Add Fruits, Nuts, and Condiments

  • Scatter grapes, fig halves, and fruit slices across the board.
  • Fill gaps with mixed nuts and place olives or pickles in bowls.
  • Add honey and preserves in small containers or drizzle lightly.

Step 4: Garnish and Serve

  • Tuck fresh herbs among the items as edible garnishes.
  • Place bread or crackers around the outer edges of the board.
